GOLDEN EL W: Bulgaria, Finland and Czech Republic at F4

Bulgaria, Finland, Czech Republic and Hungary will fight for the gold medal of the CEV Golden European League 2018. The tournament will be held on June 14-15 in Budapest.



Ukraine - Azerbaijan 0-3 (28-30, 21-25, 23-25)

Azerbaijan scored the third consecutive victory in the Golden European League but they didn’t qualified to the Final Four since that Bulgaria also scored the new win. Azerbaijan lost two sets more than the Balkan team.

Nadiia Kodola was the best scorer of the match with 16 points. Yelyzaveta Samadova was the best scorer of Azerbaijan with 14 points.


Portugal - Bulgaria 0-3 (17-25, 22-25, 25-27)

Bulgaria finished the Pool stage on the top position and qualified for the Final Four in Budapest. Silvana Chausheva with 13 points was the best player of the match and she helped Bulgaria to secure the spot at F4.

On the other side, Hristina Ruseva is the best blocker of the Golden European League with a total of 33 kill blocks.



Hungary - Finland 3-2 (25-20, 25-27, 21-25, 25-21, 15-11)

Finland suffered defeat in the derby of the pool but they already secured a spot at the Final Four since Hungary are the organizers.

Setter Zsuzsanna Tálas debuted in League Round as she is recovering from an ankle injury but during the match, Piia Korhonen injured her ankle at the final stage of the first set and couldn’t return for the rest of the game.

The top scorer of the match was Gréta Szakmáry with 30 points for Hungary, followed by Renáta Sándor with 27 points.


France – Croatia 3-1 (25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 25-21)

France celebrated their first and only victory in EL and they defeated Croatia after four sets. Helena Cazaute was the top scorer with 32 points while Samanta Fabris led Croatia with 27 points.



Belarus - Czech Republic 2-3 (21-25, 25-18, 25-19, 20-25, 12-15)

Czech Republic secured the sixth victory in Pool C and will continue their journey in the Final Four.

The Belarusian girls tried to take a revenge after they lost to the Czech Republic but unfortunately they didn’t. Tatsiana Markevich was the best scorer of the match with 18 points, but she could not bring a victory to her team in the tie-break.


Slovakia - Spain 3-2 (25-17, 22-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-6)

Slovakia won the second victory in EL but match against Spain was a quite interesting. They finished after five sets and Nikola Radosova was the top scorer with 22 points.
